Responding to the invite, we drove down  on 12th July morning from Pinjore, and were at Magnolia Hall (basement of India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, Delhi) venue well before  the scheduled 3 pm launch time. Greeted by Kiran Chadha, herself in a perfect pleated sari, her family heirloom necklace in place and as prim and proper as always. There was spring in  her feet and instructions just flowed. She greeted practically everyone who walked in. Her Sacred Heart classmates, her colleagues from service days, fellow travellers, family and friends. Gradually, the venue filled in all along the sweet flute & guitar. Himachali music filled the room. From the college friends group were Aneel Mann & Anisha, Cookie Dosanjh & Deepi Singh, Commodore & Mrs Bali, Renu & Self.
A very pleasant anchor was Ms Bharti, who conducted the ceremonies efficiently. The Governor of Tripura Shri Tathagata Roy, was the Chief Guest, He walked in, in his checked shirt and jeans and was an anti- thesis to my image of Governor not in bandgala or dhoti or even a Gandhi topee. He looked every bit the civil engineer that he was. Mr Suvir Ahuja spoke glowing about the book & Chadha's. Ms Goyal, a one  time student of Kiran likewise let out nuggets of their past association. Mr Sadana from the Tourism Ministry put things in perspective about the need for such books in promoting tourism. And then, Kiran herself spoke at length about the motivation, research and the production of the express effort.
Having collected my copy of the book, I waited only till I got into the car, before I undid the cellophone jacket to browse through. My  friend  Harash's beaming face greeted  me on the first flip and my day was more than made. Till late that night I sat browsing, reading some, seeing most. I was very pleased with all that came between the cider lined covers. Some wonderfully researched details and breathtaking visuals, that would need a detailed review. Let it be said , that we attended a most elegant, dignified and well managed book launch, and I have seen a few. There was no shoving pushing or faux pas. It had the stamp of Kiran Chadha's managerial  skills: touche!! To the greater succees of "DALHOUSIE… through my eyes".

I am reading your book page by page. I found "Dalhosie through my eyes" an amazing book and one that only you could have written. You grew up in this town,Your grand father seemed to have owned a great deal of land here and developed it. It is a personal history to be very proud of. Beside this you have written and edited the book so well. I have not come across any mistake so far. I remember being asked to edit a magazine for the Sacred Heart Convent and your article as an old girl of the school was the only one that had no mistake in it!
You have chosen and paid for a first class photographer and you must have needed great energy to take him round and direct him, in the snow. The photos are  superb. To sum up, I think that this book is a real treasure and that is why I have bought four copies, for my three grand daughters.

--Dr. (Capt.) G.S. Dhillon,

Your challenging and beautifully written book so easily transports one back in time and defends Dahousie for its very essence; beauty and serenity. It traces the possible influences of its inheritance and pedigree.
Its appeal lies not just in its excellent photography but in the power of the written word and its overriding concern for accuracy of historical facts.
It’s indeed an ambitious feat accomplished, having so well brought alive the sound of voices in the vast silence of a century and a half.
Your book has been written with conviction and conspicuous ability that are the hall mark of your personality.
